Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Detroit District is seeking contractors for the St. Marys Sea Lamprey Trap construction contract.

The scope of work entails construction of a sea lamprey trap structure at Gate 16 of the St. Marys River Compensating Works in Chippewa County, MI. The sea lamprey trap structure shall consist of an upland concrete work pad, a steel marine platform, a mesh pre-trap, a trap vault, and a lift system. This contract includes an option for a second sea lamprey vault. The steel marine platform is to be 25 feet long and 7 feet wide and be supported by WF columns. The columns are to contain welded and bolted plates and angles and must be socketed into the underlying bedrock. The trap vault is to have WF columns at each corner, steel skin plates along the sides, and pre-cast concrete pad as a base. The lift system is to include a free-standing davit crane, and an electric chain hoist.

The contract is expected to be awarded around August 2021.

The estimated cost of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.

The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, which has a small business size standard of $39.5 million.

The solicitation package materials, documents, drawings, specifications, and attachments to the anticipated solicitation will be available only electronically and via beta.sam.gov. Hard copy documents will NOT be supplied by the Government to any interested parties as a result of this solicitation. Please note the Government will not be maintaining a bidders list during the solicitation period. However, vendors are strongly encouraged to review the "Interested Vendors List" found on beta.sam.gov for this solicitation.
