SS316 Subscale Recuperator Core

Background
NASA/NSSC has a requirement for SS316 Subscale Recuperator Core. NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to FOTOFAB, LLC located at 3758 W Belmont Ave, Chicago, IL 60618. It has been determined that FOTOFAB, LLC is the sole provider of SS316 Subscale Recuperator Core.

NASA/NSSC will be the procuring center for this effort, which is aimed at supporting the Cryogenic Fluid Management Portfolio Office (CFMPP) and cryocooler development team in their goal to liquefy methane using a thermodynamic system.

Work Details
The contract involves the fabrication of recuperator components for testing in cryocooler environments. The vendor shall provide fabrication and inspection of parts with the following requirements:

1. **Task 1: Fabrication of Stainless Steel 316 Flat Plates per MER08397-003**
- Procure 0.025” SS316, annealed flat plates.
- Machine and chemically etch plates to desired geometries based on drawing MER08397-003.
- Dimensionally inspect etched plates to ensure geometries within +/- 0.004” tolerances.
- Ship all deliverable parts to NASA MSFC upon completion.
- Supply inspection reports included in shipment.
- Quality control all parts per AS9100D / ISO9001:2015.

2. **Task 2: Fabrication of Stainless Steel 316 Flat Plates and Diffusion Bonded Plate Stacks per MER08380-001**
- Procure both 0.025” and 0.05” SS316, annealed flat plates.
- Machine and chemically etch plates as per drawing MER08380-001.
- Inspect etched plates for tolerances of +/- 0.004” for 0.025” plates and +/- 0.010” for 0.05” plates.
- Stack and diffusion bond thirty-two (32) plates into printed circuit heat exchanger (PCHE) cores with specific layering requirements.

3. **Task 3: Fabrication of Stainless Steel 316 Flat Plates and Diffusion Bonded Plate Stacks per MER08935-001**
- Similar requirements as Task 2 but based on drawing MER08935-001.

**Deliverables:**
1. Ten (10) individual plates as outlined in MER08397-003.
2. Three (3) PCHE recuperator cores as outlined in MER08380-001.
3. Two (2) alternate PCHE recuperator cores as outlined in MER08935-001.

Period of Performance

This work will be performed offsite at a vendor location, with shipping to Marshall Space Flight Center, Central Receiving, Bldg. 4631, Huntsville, AL 35812.

Bidder Requirements
The vendor must have quality control processes compliant with AS9100D / ISO9001:2015 standards.
