Description

This opportunity is for the purchase of Splunk Enterprise Annual + Enterprise Support 1 Year 100 GB Term (Renewal) software. The purchase agency is the Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division. The government requires this software to assist system administrators in monitoring and reading different types of log files and storing data as events in indexers. The software will be used to consolidate and improve ongoing analysis of system and network logs and machine/system data, as well as to meet STIG/Security compliance requirements. The brand name product, Splunk, is the only one capable of providing the required level of quality because it offers advanced search, analysis, and visualization capabilities that other brands do not provide. The delivery is expected within 10 days to the Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division in Norco, CA.

The purchase is being made under a limited-sources justification (GSA) because Splunk is the only source capable of providing the unique and highly specialized supplies or services required at the level of quality needed. Currently, Carahsoft is the only authorized government reseller of Splunk software licensing and software assurance. They hold a Blanket Purchase Agreement with the Federal Government. The justification also states that the requested supplies/services represent the minimum requirements of the government, which have been verified by certifying technical and requirements personnel.

Overall, this opportunity involves the purchase of Splunk software to improve system monitoring and analysis capabilities for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division. It is a limited-sources procurement due to the unique capabilities of Splunk and its status as the only authorized government reseller. The acquisition timeframe is within 10 days, with delivery to be made at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division in Norco, CA.
