PROJECT NAME: SOUTH SAGUACHE CREEK AOP CONSTRUCTION

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project includes, but is not limited to, removal of existing culvert structure and Installation of government provided, 21' - 7" span 4' - 11" rise aluminum structural plate box culvert following design plans provided.

PROJECT LOCATION: This project is located in Saguache County, Colorado. See Attachment J.4 Final Design Plans (10 Pages) for exact project location.

Background
The South Saguache Creek AOP Construction project is issued by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), specifically under the Forest Service. The project aims to replace the existing culvert structure over South Saguache Creek, located within the Rio Grande National Forest on Forest Service Road 787. The scope of work includes the removal of the existing culvert structure and the installation of a government-provided aluminum structural plate box culvert with a span of 21' - 7" and a rise of 4' - 11". All construction tasks must adhere to standard specifications for construction of roads and bridges on federal highway projects (FP-14) and AASHTO LRFD bridge design specifications. Key tasks include:
- Submission of a safety plan and hazardous spill plan prior to pre-construction meeting.
- Submission of a construction schedule prior to pre-construction meeting.
- In-stream work restrictions between May 15 and June 30.
- Maintenance of traffic safety on affected roads, including signage and road closure requirements.
- Excavation limits set at 10 feet beyond toe of slopes.
- No backfill against structural elements until approved.
- Dewatering methods must be determined by the contractor with plans submitted for approval.
- Removal and disposal of the existing culvert off national forest system lands, with costs covered under pay item 20301.

Period of Performance
The contractor shall begin performance within 15 calendar days after receiving the award notice to proceed and complete it within 90 calendar days.
