Background
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environmental Management (EM) is conducting market research for the Los Alamos Legacy Cleanup Contract II (LLCC II). This contract aims to address legacy contamination resulting from nuclear weapons development and government-sponsored nuclear research at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), which has been operational since 1943.

The EM Los Alamos Field Office's mission is to safely and efficiently complete the cleanup of this contamination with full transparency. The DOE seeks innovative, risk-based End State approaches for cleanup activities that will reduce risk and environmental liability.

Work Details
The Sources Sought/RFI is intended to gather capability statements from interested parties with specialized capabilities necessary to meet all Major Elements of Scope for a potential competitive procurement for LLCC II requirements. Key objectives include identifying barriers to competition, evaluating small business capabilities, and assessing risks.

Although a Performance Work Statement is not available at this time, the Major Elements of Scope are outlined in an attachment provided with the solicitation.

Period of Performance
The specific period of performance will be determined through the acquisition planning process and is not defined at this stage.
