Sources Sought for JASON Recompete

Background
The Washington Headquarters Services Acquisition Directorate is seeking interest from Federally Funded Research and Development Centers and University Affiliated Research Centers to provide independent, objective, and conflict-free Program Management services for the JASON Independent Scientific Advisory Group.

This requirement is a follow-on to an existing contract awarded to THE MITRE CORPORATION, which is set to expire on August 27, 2026. The JASON group consists of approximately 70 world-class scholars providing unbiased research and analysis to support Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Government strategic decision-making.

Work Details
The contractor will provide management and logistics support for the JASON program, including:

- Coordinating all travel for JASON members;
- Preparing, scheduling, and hosting a minimum of four meetings per year;
- Preparing and submitting proposals for government-sponsored research topics;
- Coordinating final study reports for each government sponsor;
- Providing necessary classified facilities, communications, and computing resources;
- Daily program management including business and financial management;
- Daily security management including personal and physical security administration;
- Coordinating all technical, logistical, and administrative support requirements for JASON meetings.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period leading up to the expiration of the current contract on August 27, 2026.

This opportunity appears to have a confirmed incumbent, as it is a JASON program management and logistics recompete following prior awards to The MITRE Corporation under HQ003421D0010 (and related contract period HQ003421D0010-HQ003421F0181). The prior work included program management support for the JASON Independent Scientific Advisory Group, including coordinating meetings and travel, providing daily business/security management, and supporting the delivery of independent research outputs through sponsor tasking. The current sources sought describes a continuation of these same program management and logistics functions leading up to the August 27, 2026 expiration.
