Description

The purpose of this Sources Sought/RFI is to conduct market research in orderto determine whether responsible sources exist and if this eff ort can be executedthrough a competitive process. This Sources Sought/RFI is not to be construedas a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract.

No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providinginformation in response to this Sources Sought/RFI or any follow up informationrequests.

The anticipated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 238160 Roofing. The size standard to be classified as a small business is $19 million.

In accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 36.204 Disclosureof the magnitude of construction projects this project is projected to be between $250k - $500k.

INTENT: The roof system of a facility on base has failed and is leaking and needs to be
replaced. The intent of the project is to repair the roof system and associated accessories on a
building at Hanscom AFB, MA by removing and replacing the roof system. All work shall be
performed in accordance with all applicable National, Air Force, State and local building
codes and regulations, and Hanscom AFB Architectural Compatibility Standards.

Background
The purpose of this Sources Sought/RFI is to conduct market research in order to determine whether responsible sources exist and if this effort can be executed through a competitive process. This Sources Sought/RFI is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract.

Work Details
The roof system of a facility on base has failed and is leaking and needs to be replaced. The intent of the project is to repair the roof system and associated accessories on a building at Hanscom AFB, MA by removing and replacing the roof system. The work includes but is not limited to: removal of approximately 12,500 SF of existing asphalt shingle roof system and EPDM roof system, installation of new asphalt shingle roofing system, including all requirements of UFC 3-110-03, latest addition, installation of new edge metal to replace existing fascia, installation of ice and water shield at eaves, valleys, rakes, and roof penetrations, installation of synthetic underlayment over roof areas that don’t already have a layer of underlayment, installation of a new drip edge to match existing drip edge color, size, profile, and fastening method, installation of asphalt shingle starter strip, installation of architectural asphalt shingles comparable to GAF Timberline HD Hickory color, installation of new vents in the same size, shape and location as vents removed, installation of new gutters and downspouts to match existing, installation of all new metal flashing, counter-flashing, pipe flashing, and trim at all miscellaneous roof penetrations.

Period of Performance
The period of performance (POP) shall be one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days. The POP shall commence upon the date of the executed Government Notice to Proceed (NTP).
