Description

Fast Track Proposals will be accepted. Direct-to-Phase II Proposals will not be accepted. Number of anticipated awards: 1-2 Budget (total costs): Phase I: $ 300,000 for up to 1 year. Phase II: $ 1.5 million for up to 3 years. Background High quality and reproducible information are essential to develop therapeutics and vaccines for infectious and immunemediated diseases. Identifying high quality information is challenging due large volumes of available data and can lead to decisions that are based on low quality information. This scenario can lead to hesitancy to adopt vaccines and/or treatments. Developing digital tools to verify data quality and data reproducibility underlying infectious disease treatments (e.g., monoclonal antibodies, antiviral drugs, antibiotics) and vaccines (e.g., MMR, influenza, SARS-CoV-2 vaccines) represents a way to identify and certify trustworthy data resources. Scientific and government agencies, including the US National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) have described challenges and provided recommendations for ways to enhance the reproducibility and highlight the credibility of research data. Therefore, new methods to access, verify, and certify data quality, provenence, and validity have the potential to improve our ability to develop and advance treatments and vaccines to enhance their adoption.
