Background
The solicitation is for Transportation and Logistics Readiness Services for the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The vendor is required to provide transportation bulk freight services 24/7/365 to transport SNS assets throughout the 50 United States, U.S. Territories, and international interests in the event of a national emergency or crisis. This includes delivering medical/pharmaceutical supplies in response to various incidents such as terrorist attacks, biological/chemical/nuclear outbreaks, natural and manmade disasters, and humanitarian mission support.

Work Details
The tasks include rapid deployment of ground and air cargo assets within 120 minutes after receiving a no-notice event, planning for rapid deployment ground support and air cargo freight to multiple locations with manning and equipment, in-transit visibility to track commodities, participating in exercises or drills with SNS Logistics Operations, providing transportation ground support equipment and air cargo support, booking air cargo with various terminals, identifying key personnel or an 'on-call' number(s) for transportation requests, deploying trucks to physical pick-up locations at the time of an event, and providing overall pricing under the Sample Scenario Task Order.

The geographic locations where the contract will be performed include Seattle, Washington; Miami, Florida; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Atlanta, Georgia.
