Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Genotyping and Parentage Assignment Services in Rainbow Trout   2

Background
The USDA, ARS (Agricultural Research Service) National Center for Cool and Cold Water Aquaculture is issuing this solicitation to establish an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) Genotyping and Parentage Assignment Services in Rainbow Trout.

The mission of the USDA ARS is to conduct research that enhances agricultural productivity and sustainability. This contract aims to provide essential genetic analysis services to support aquaculture research and development.

Work Details
The contractor will perform the following tasks:
1. DNA extractions and SNP genotyping of rainbow trout DNA samples using low-density assays of at least 180 SNPs.
2. Provide parentage analysis results with high confidence assignments of at least 95% of the offspring to parental pairs.
3. Return shipping of all unused tissue samples in ethanol and all extracted DNA samples upon completion of the project.

The contractor must ensure that:
- Each sample has at least 200 ng of total rainbow trout genome DNA.
- SNP call rates for passing samples exceed 90%.
- The minimum required sample pass rate is 95% for offspring and 100% for parents.
- A fully integrated Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is used for sample tracking, ensuring no errors in matching genotypes to samples.
- Quality control steps are implemented during SNP genotype processing.
- Data completion and return are required within 90 days of sample receipt.

Period of Performance
The period of performance spans from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2030, with specific ordering periods outlined for each year.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the USDA-NCCCWA located at 11861 Leetown Road, Kearneysville, WV 25430.
