Simunition Protective Gear - Amendment   2

Background
The 343rd Training Squadron (TRS) provides law enforcement, weapons, security, and ground training to all Air Force Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard students assigned to the Security Forces career field. The 343 TRS instructs students at the Apprentice and Basic Officer Course level on the fundamentals of weapons control, techniques, tactics, and procedures. These courses utilize Non-Lethal Training Ammunition to provide realism to training. The Personal Protective Equipment below is necessary to ensure the safety of the students during training.

Simunition Protective Gear Salient Characteristics: 1. (150) HELMET: Dimensions: Approximately 12” rear helmet height x 13” front visor height x 11” wide. Black in color. Weight: Approximately 3.1 lbs. Adjustable plastic headband. Helmet shell constructed of lightweight durable plastic capable of sustaining high velocity impact while maintaining American National Standards Institute (ANSI) requirements. Lens constructed of pliable, flexible plastic to allow for adequate cheek/stock weld. 180-degree visibility. Anti-fogging ventilation ports. Compatibility to be worn with prescription eyewear. Flip-up face shield.
2. (150) CHIN GUARD: Dimension: Approximately 6”W x 6”H x 1”D. Black in color. Weight: Approximately 2 lbs. Constructed of durable plastic. Provides chin and throat protection.
