Shoshone National Forest Botany Survey

This contract consists of visiting project areas across the Shoshone National Forest to complete botanical surveys and invasive plant surveys. Botanical surveys will be focused on rare, sensitive, and invasive plants to document populations and or habitat, but may also include general species inventory. This contract is to be awarded as a single award with option items. Options will be exercised when funding becomes available. Surveys must be conducted when plants can be located and identified. Phenology of target species will dictate specific start dates on the ground and will be established in consultation with the Forest Ecologist on a year-by-year basis. Surveys can be completed over a two-year time period to allow for differences in phenology and weather conditions. Generally, surveys can begin in June and must be finished by September. A draft report and draft data must be submitted by October 15th during each year of operation. After review with the Forest Ecologist, a final report and final data is due by October 30th of the final year of operation. If an option is exercised late in the growing season, two full growing seasons will still be allowed to complete surveys according to the proper phenology indicators and geographical locations where surveys are to occur.
