Background
The U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) is seeking to procure high-quality, high-endurance short-barreled rifles (SBRs) and accessories to support its Protective Operations Division. This division is responsible for providing protective services, conducting site security assessments, responding to emergencies, and mitigating threats against the FERC Chairman and Commissioners.

The procurement aims to enhance the Division's capability in protective operations, rapid response to incidents, and counter-assault capabilities during security operations.

Work Details
The contract includes the purchase of:
1. 10 Complete Short Barrel Rifles (SBRs) with Sling and QD Sling attachment.
2. 10 30-round Magpul Polymer Magazines (or compliant equivalent).

Specifications for the SBR include:
- Caliber: 5.56mm NATO (compatible with M193, M855, MK262/M855A1 ammunition).
- Barrel Length: 11.5 inches.
- Configuration: Carbine-length gas system, free-float handguard, semi-automatic operation with adjustable stock.
- Weight: Approximately 6.0–6.5 lbs unloaded.
- Reliability: Must pass a minimum 5,000-round endurance test with minimal malfunctions.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will be 6 months from the date of award.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate that their products meet all specifications outlined in the RFQ and Statement of Work (SOW). The procurement is unrestricted; however, bidders must ensure compliance with federal laws and regulations regarding firearms.
