Description

The project will renourish approximately 4 miles of shoreline in Nassau County, Florida on Fernandina Beach south of the St. Mary Entrance Channel south jetty between FDEP Range Monuments R-13 and R-33. Beach compatible sand for the project will be dredged from the South Channel Borrow Area. The South Channel Borrow Area is located immediately south of the St. Mary Entrance Channel and about 3 miles offshore of the south jetty. Project work also includes, but is not limited to, Munitions and Explosives of Concerns (MEC) construction support, beach tilling, vibration monitoring, turbidity monitoring, and environmental species monitoring. A Pre-Bid Conference will be held via teleconference on 30 January 2025 at 10:00AM, EST. Background
The Shore Protection Project, Beach Renourishment in Nassau County, Florida, is initiated by the Jacksonville District. The project aims to enhance coastal resilience and protect the shoreline along Fernandina Beach, specifically south of the St. Mary Entrance Channel.

The goal is to renourish approximately 4 miles of shoreline using beach-compatible sand sourced from the South Channel Borrow Area, which is located about 3 miles offshore.

Work Details
The project involves the following tasks:
