Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a Low Rate Initial Production contract to Saab Defense and Security USA, LLC, East Syracuse, New York. The contract will procure AN/SPN-50(V)1 Shipboard Air Traffic Radars, interim sustainment, hardware support, and associated data in fiscal years 2020-2022. The total estimated quantity of AN/SPN-50(V)1 radars being procured is seven.

THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This effort is being awarded on a sole source basis pursuant to the provisions of FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source." The U.S. Navy does not possess adequate technical data necessary to competitively award these requirements. Award to a source other than Saab would result in an unacceptable delay in NAVAIR's requirement to field and integrate the design into new construction hulls and maintain deliveries required for the Naval Sea Systems Command's shipbuilding program.
