Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) maintains an enterprise data management system in SharePoint and SharePoint Online. As part of NIST's transition to SharePoint Online as our primary SharePoint storage platform, the Office of Information Systems Management (OISM) requires SharePoint contract support to assist with full utilization of the features of the SharePoint Online platform. NIST completed a migration from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams in 2021. This included NIST's first authorization of a cloud service for moderate confidentiality permanent external sharing. Microsoft Teams utilizes SharePoint Online as its storage platform, and NIST finds it challenging to fully utilize this platform without specialized SharePoint developer and administrative support. Microsoft has invested significant resources in the SharePoint Online platform and in developing new features, and NIST requires contract support to understand and utilize those new features. The overall scope is to contract for SharePoint developers and a SharePoint Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specialized support and development projects at NIST. Two primary projects will be completed by the developers. First, the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR) will be implementing SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint Online document libraries and complex workflows as part of its response to a Nuclear Regulatory Commission Confirmatory Order. Second, NIST's Office of Acquisition and Agreements Management (OAAM) will be migrating and re-engineering complex workflows that had existed in an on-premise SharePoint 2016 environment in to a modern SharePoint Online environment. The subject matter expert will assist the developers in completing complex SharePoint topics. They will receive assignments submitted passed through the NIST ServiceNow portal or directly assigned through email, meetings, and other communication sources. They will also be responsible for transitioning developed products to NIST staff, may include but not limited to, training, documentation, and other activities needed.
