Service/Rental of (5) Air Conditioner Units with Heaters   2

Background
The contract is issued by the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) with the purpose of renting five (5) 65-70 ton air conditioner units equipped with heaters.

The mission of NNSY is to provide maintenance and repair services for naval vessels, and this contract aims to ensure adequate climate control for operations at the shipyard. The rental units must meet specific technical specifications to function effectively in the demanding environment of the shipyard.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide five (5) air conditioner units with heaters that meet the following specifications:
1. Units must be electrically powered, capable of starting and running on a 400-amp circuit breaker, with Camlock end connections.
2. The units should withstand exposure to everyday weather and saltwater air, necessitating protective coverings.
3. Each unit must be air-cooled and provide a minimum cooling capacity of 780,000 BTU/hr with at least a 30-degree temperature drop at 12,000 CFM.
4. Units must have four (4) 20-inch vent duct inlet connections and four (4) dampered outlet connections.
5. They should operate continuously, 24/7, and be free-standing with forklift slots for mobility.
6. Heating capacity must include a minimum of 60 kW with an input rating of 200,000 BTU or better and a temperature control rise of at least 40°F.
7. The contractor must provide technical data sheets for the rented units and ensure cleanliness before delivery.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is set for twelve (12) months per unit, with options for two additional years under similar terms.

The contract will be performed at Norfolk Naval Shipyard located in Portsmouth, VA.
