The Food and Drug Administration intends to make a sole source award for a Service maintenance agreement for SCIEX QTRAP 6500+ Agilent 1290 LC-MS system. The award will be made to:

The Food and Drug Administration intends to make a sole source award for a service maintenance agreement for SCIEX QTRAP 6500+ and Agilent 1290 LC-MS system to maintain equipment performance and eliminate downtime. The Sciex QTRAP 6500+ mass spectrometer - Agilent 1290 LC is an integral piece of instrument system for the research of seafood decomposition, marine toxins, and aquaculture drugs and for marine toxins outbreak responses. Due to the complexity and cost of the mass spectrometer unit purchased in 2018, the use of AB Sciex for a maintenance agreement for services and repairs in accordance with OEM specifications would greatly enhance the life of the instrument and reduce the downtime of the system. All parts for the mass spectrometer are manufactured and certified by AB Sciex. The manufacturer, AB Sciex, does not authorize any third-party service organizations to service the mass spectrometer. Third party repairs and maintenance are not covered by the manufacturer and would increase the cost of repairs and services that may be needed in the future. SB Sciex confidential and proprietary diagnostic tools used for the Sciex systems are available only through AB Sciex and is for the efficient diagnosis and repair of the instrument quickly to minimize the downtime of the instrument. AB Sciex provides premium access to online training courses and full access to the SCIEXNOW customer portal, troubleshooting for software malfunctions and corrective action of the latest versions of the instrument software, delivery of updates and full upgrades to the latest software, along with an annual software health check. AB Sciex provides StatusScope service and is advantage in preventing the failure of components, keeping the instrument performance in good condition and reducing downtime. Additionally, the technical support from AB Sciex on the mass spectrometer, informatics and application become available with the service contract. AB Sciex service engineer support is only available from AB Sciex service engineers.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement within five (5) days after the publication of this synopsis which shall be considered by the agency.
