Description

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) intends to release a solicitation to support the strengthening of Peru's forest sector. The overall goal of Pro-Bosques is to provide the pillars for sustainability, legality, inclusivity, and profitability that are necessary to meet the goals of USAID/Peru's Amazonia Verde Project supporting Peru's interests in the forest sector.

The objectives of the Activity are:

1. Strengthen Monitoring and Enforcement in the Forest Sector to increase legal timber for international and domestic use;
2. Strengthen Private Sector Engagement in Forest Sector Activities through the increase of efficiency in the use and transformation of forest resources in order to reduce deforestation rates and illegal logging; and
3. Strengthen indigenous communities' rights and resources through sustainable forest management.
