Scaffold Dock Purchase

Background
The United States Coast Guard Base Alameda has a requirement for a floating maintenance dock to support ship maintenance operations. The goal of this contract is to procure a one-tier aluminum scaffolding paint float system that adheres to OSHA standards, ensuring safety and compliance during its use.

Work Details
The contractor is required to manufacture and deliver the following product: One-tier aluminum scaffolding paint float system with a back side railing constructed in accordance with OSHA 29CFR1915 and OSHA 29CFR1926.452 standards. Specifications include:
- Capable of supporting 5 personnel.
- Built-in ladders for access.
- Frames and railings made of aluminum with aluminum toe guards.
- Platform height approximately 5-7’ tall, staggering inward by approximately 2’.
- Safety harness slide rail on the platform.
- Each deck equipped with PVC decking.
- Secured on a floating dock (also PVC decking) measuring approximately 10’x16’ with adequate floats for buoyancy.
- Each corner of the dock will have 1 cleat (4 total) strong enough to moor the paint float to a pier, along with lifting eyes in each corner capable of lifting the paint float with a sling.
- Every deck level and dock will have rub rails around the decks. Dimensions are approximate and may be adjusted by a professional engineer for stability and buoyancy while meeting OSHA standards.
