Background
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) is seeking a contractor to install two new 3-ton 15 SEER2 packaged heat pumps with 8KW heat strips, and digital/programmable 2-stage thermostat powered by household electricity at the Bears Bluff National Fish Hatchery in South Carolina. The project aims to replace old HVAC units in two quarters buildings to ensure safe living conditions for staff and their families.

Work Details
The contractor is required to remove existing HVAC units, including indoor and outdoor components of split units, dispose of all materials off-site, locate HVAC packaged units outside of each quarters building, install new 3-ton 15 SEER2 heat pump packaged unit outside of each quarters building on a new equipment pad, install new sheet metal filter box, connecting supply and return ductwork to the new package unit, a new 2-stage thermostat, wiring circuit to power electric heat strips with a new disconnect switch, perform startup and verification that all heat pump processes are functioning as intended by the manufacturer, and haul off/dispose of any trash resulting from this work. The work must be completed in compliance with all applicable local state and federal code requirements and the latest version of the National Electric Code (NEC).

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is from May 31, 2024, to September 30, 2024.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at the Bears Bluff National Fish Hatchery located at 7030 Bears Bluff Rd, Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina, 29487.
