Description

The U.S. Corps of Engineers (USACE} has a requirement for road, trail, and infrastructure repairs at Saylorville lake that includes, but is not limited to, removal of existing aggregate base, preparation of existing aggregate base, compacted Portland cement or fly ash modified base course, new compacted aggregate base, compacted aggregate shoulders, topsoil placement, fill, excavation/cut, asphalt pavement patching, asphalt cement concrete (ACC) milling, asphalt crack/joint sealing, ACC pavement demolition and removal, saw cut asphalt, trail section replacement, bituminous fog coat, hot mix asphalt (HMA) binder course, HMA surface course, Portland cement concrete (PCC) milling, concrete crack/joint sealing, PCC pavement and curb and gutter demolition and removal, steel reinforcement, concrete curb and gutter, concrete pavements and slabs, PCC sidewalks, synthetic fiber reinforcement, seeding, geotextile, pavement marking, steel-backed timber guardrail installation, detectable warning panels, site restoration, and related incidental work.

Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is issuing a requirement for road, trail, and infrastructure repairs at Saylorville Lake, located in Polk County, Iowa. The mission of the USACE includes maintaining and improving infrastructure to support public safety and environmental stewardship.

The goal of this contract is to facilitate necessary repairs and upgrades to ensure the functionality and safety of the roads and trails in this area.

Work Details
The contract encompasses a wide range of construction tasks including:
- removal of existing aggregate base;
- preparation and shaping of existing aggregate base;
- installation of compacted Portland cement or fly ash modified base course;
- new compacted aggregate base;
- compacted aggregate shoulders;
- topsoil placement;
- fill and excavation work;
- asphalt pavement patching;
- asphalt cement concrete (ACC) milling;
- sealing of asphalt cracks/joints;
- ACC pavement demolition and removal;
- saw cutting asphalt;
- trail section replacement;
- application of bituminous fog coat;
- installation of hot mix asphalt (HMA) binder course and surface course;
- milling of Portland cement concrete (PCC);
- sealing concrete cracks/joints;
- demolition/removal of PCC pavement, curb, and gutter;
- installation of steel reinforcement, concrete curb and gutter, concrete pavements/slabs, PCC sidewalks with synthetic fiber reinforcement;
- seeding with geotextile materials;
- pavement marking;
- installation of steel-backed timber guardrails and detectable warning panels;
- site restoration, along with related incidental work.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will span three twelve-month ordering periods, totaling 36 months from the initial notice to proceed.

Place of Performance
The construction projects will be performed at Saylorville Lake in Polk County, Iowa.
