Description

The Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) has directed the creation of an Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF) to support the retro fit and maintenance of Multi-functional Information Distribution System (MIDS) terminals. The critical driver is the Turn Around Time (TAT) to ship units to and from the U.S. combined with the required time in the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) facility Data Link Solutions (DLS). This requirement provides scope for standing up Enhanced In-Kingdom support to include acquisition, installation, and maintenance of production tooling and production repair support equipment. Up to 16 scheduled visits by a Field Service Engineer (FSE) per U.S. Government direction to perform: retrofitting of MIDS Link 16 terminals, MIDS Servicing, required testing and validation of retrofitted and serviced MIDS Link 16 equipment within the IMF prior to return to the RSAF and return of serviced terminals to the RSAF.
The IMF will be equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to include:
Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) Integration Test Sets (MITS)
Tools and Miscellaneous Equipment
Spare Shop Replaceable Units (SRU)
Unique Block Upgrade 2 (BU2) Equipment
IMF will also be staffed with a Field Service Engineer (FSE) traveling into Kingdom to preform various services to include:
Assembly of MIDS MITS and associated equipment in IMF
Up to 16 scheduled visits by a Field Service Engineer (FSE) per U.S. Government direction to perform:
Retrofit of MIDS Link 16 terminals
MIDS Servicing
Required testing and validation of retrofitted and serviced MIDS Link 16 equipment within the IMF prior to return to the RSAF
Return of serviced terminals to RSAF
Storage of MIDS Link 16 equipment awaiting servicing
Coordination as required with the In-Kingdom COMSEC custodians
Monitoring and replenishment of spare parts and consumables required for the servicing of MIDS Link 16 equipment
MIDS Asset Management and Asset Tracking of MIDS Link 16 equipment
