Saint Juliens Creek Bldg. 180 Renovations

Background
The contract is issued by NAVFAC for the renovation of Building 180 at Saint Juliens Creek Annex in Chesapeake, Virginia. The goal of the contract is to modernize the facility to meet current standards and requirements, including converting existing administrative spaces into dual lab and administrative working areas.

This project falls under a multiple award construction contract (MACC) for general construction in the Hampton Roads area.

Work Details
The renovation will fully modernize Building 180 within its existing boundary, upgrading it to an Open Secret Storage secure space per DoDM 5200.01. The work includes:

- Demolition of select walls
- Construction of new partitions
- Infill of existing exterior penetrations (windows)
- Design of new admin/lab areas with painted gypsum board walls, new ceilings, and appropriate lighting.

A full FF&E package will be included with NIWC standard workstations and kitchenette. Building systems will be upgraded to meet current standards for mechanical, electrical, water, sewer, communication, and fire protection. The project also includes replacing the existing roof covering, gutters, downspouts, and roof protrusions. Additionally, parking will be updated for POV/GOV usage.
