Description

A Gas Chromatograph (GC) instrument is needed for air monitoring in replacement of MINICAMS instruments.

Procure two GC instruments with the following specifications:

    • Flame Photometric Detector (DFPD); one instrument with phosphorous optical filter, one instrument with sulfur optical filter
    • Chromatographic columns: one instrument DB-1 phase and one instrument DB-210 phase column; one DB-1701 column that can be installed at a later date by the user
    • Air sampling pre-concentrator trap capability with flow rate through the trap of at least 500mL/min
    • Capability to add mass flow controller and collect flow date
    • Cycle time from injection to injection of 15 minutes or less
    • Electronic pressure control (EPC) of gases
    • Displayed control zones, valve status, temperature, pressure, and voltage.
    • Built in data acquisition system
    • GC dimensions - 17 x 11 x 8.5 (width x height x depth)
    • Instrument weight approximately 25 pounds
    • Alarm capability based on analyte response

Background
The U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground, Directorate of Contracting, is contemplating the procurement of a supply contract for the purchase and delivery of Safety Air Monitoring and Analytical Referee Systems (SAMARS) Gas Chromatograph (GC). The contract is intended to replace MINICAMS instruments used for air monitoring. The solicitation is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items and is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ). The contract will be awarded on a sole source basis to Teledyne Instruments Incorporated due to the urgency, brand name, and the unavailability of other supplies or services that would satisfy agency requirements.
