The purpose of this amendment is to extend the closing date and answer Contractor questions pertaining to Solicitation 36C24224Q0775. Quote submissions shall now be submitted on or before Wednesday, July 31st, 2024, 12:00pm EST. Buffalo VA Medical Center: How many access panels are located throughout the ductwork (canteen)? There is roughly 18, one every 8 feet. Are grease pads to be used during the cleaning in the canteen and kitchen exhaust hood room? Yes Are the floors to be cleaned after service? Yes, if the contractor makes a mess on the floor they shall clean it up. Will water supply disposal sink be provided in kitchen and canteen exhaust room? Yes, a hose will be hooked up from the designated canteen spicket from outside, located on the west corner of the building. The hose bib designated for the main kitchen is located on the other side of the building (at the back of the kitchen, near the stairwell). Who do we meet with upon arrival at site? The contractor will meet with the designated VA HVAC employee when arriving on site. Where should before and after photos be sent? Before and after photos of service will be sent to the COR, Jerome Okonzak s email, jerome.okonzak@va.gov. How does the main kitchen ductwork run throughout the hood? The ductwork runs completely through the main kitchen hood into the offices located in the main kitchen. Do not have to go in through the hood. What is the confined space permit for? The confined space permit is required for the Ansul systems in the main kitchen. They are located inside of the hood that requires the person to get into and therefore are a permit required confined space. Are there any access panels in the offices located in the main kitchen? No, there are no access panels in the offices located in the main kitchen. Is there anything being cooked with grease in the main kitchen? No, only steam. What are the measurements for the hood located at the VA Day Treatment Center? Roughly 6X10 ft. Are the filters disposable? The only filters that are disposable are located on floor 9A of the Buffalo VA and at the VA Day Treatment Center. Are filters provided? No. Which filter needs to be changed (in reference to hood on 9A)? The paper pleated disposable filter need to be changed every time a cleaning occurs. The Buffalo VA is responsible for the metal filter that is located inside the hood. Is the Hazmat Shed a clean agent system? Is there cleaning involved with the Hazmat Shed or only inspection? The Hazmat Shed is Kidde System, one for fire suppression (left) and one for chemical storage (right). (See SOW for specs) Batavia VA Medical Center: Where is the access panel for the main kitchen hood located? Above the main kitchen hood which can be accessed via designated stairwell along the back wall. Are there any water drains? There are floor drains surrounding the main kitchen hoods. Do the hoods located in the Spruce and Maple Lodges have disposable filters? No. Are the hood systems in the canteen and building five (5) decommissioned? Yes. Is there a loading dock that can be used to access the main kitchen? Yes, a back loading dock with two (2) elevators at the rear of buildings one (1) and two (2).
