Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a contractor to replace a hazardous waste storage shed at the Hampton VA Medical Center located at 100 Emancipation Drive, Hampton, Virginia. The goal of this contract is to ensure the safe and compliant disposal of hazardous waste by replacing an existing prefabricated storage building that is no longer functional. This procurement action is classified as a firm-fixed price contract and aims to enhance the facility's capability to manage hazardous materials effectively.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Conduct a site investigation and prepare the site for the removal of the current prefabricated storage building.

2. Remove and dispose of the existing prefabricated storage building, which has dimensions of 9ft wide, 8.5ft deep, and 8.5ft tall.

3. Purchase and install a new prefabricated storage building that meets specific hazardous material storage specifications, including a minimum internal area of 56 square feet, constructed from 16-gauge galvannealed steel with R-11 insulation, and equipped with a dry fire suppression system.

4. Ensure that all disconnections (e.g., electrical connections, fire suppression systems) are performed safely during removal and that any necessary reassembly (e.g., fencing, eye wash shower) is completed post-installation.

The entire project must be completed within 60 days after contract award, with specific milestones for kickoff meetings, site visits, and installation outlined in the Performance Work Statement.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is set at sixty (60) days following the award date.
