Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a contractor to provide a comprehensive Regulated Medical Waste (RMW) and sharps disposal program for the Western Branch Community Based Outpatient Clinic (WBCBOC). The goal of this contract is to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while enhancing the safety of staff, patients, and visitors through effective waste management practices.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for managing a reusable medical sharps container program, which includes:

1. Removal of existing sharps containers and installation of reusable containers.
2. Providing in-service training to staff on the use and handling of containers.
3. Monitoring and timely collection of full containers, replacing them with clean/sanitized ones.
4. Transportation and disposal of medical sharps waste in accordance with all applicable laws.

The program must comply with waste minimization requirements and ensure that all services are performed safely and efficiently. The contractor must also maintain licenses, permits, vehicles, operators, equipment, and materials necessary for the proper handling of medical waste.

Period of Performance
One Base Year with Four Option Years: Base Year from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027; Option Year 1 from April 1, 2027 to March 31, 2028; Option Year 2 from April 1, 2028 to March 31, 2029; Option Year 3 from April 1, 2029 to March 31, 2030; Option Year 4 from April 1, 2030 to March 31, 2031.
