Background
The Boise VA Medical Center (VAMC) is seeking a contractor to provide disposal services for medical and regulated medical waste. This contract aims to ensure safe and compliant disposal of such waste, which is critical for maintaining health and safety standards within the facility and its associated clinics. The contractor will be responsible for adhering to all relevant regulations and standards set forth by federal, state, and local authorities.

Work Details
1. The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, and expertise for the pick-up, removal, transportation, and disposal of medical waste including regulated medical waste and trace antineoplastic/chemotherapy waste for the VA Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, as well as Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Twin Falls, Mountain Home, Caldwell, and Salmon Idaho.

2. All containers and bags supplied by the contractor must be sealable, clean, and labeled according to OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

3. The contractor must comply with all applicable City, County, State, and Federal laws regarding the transportation and disposal of regulated medical waste.

4. Contractor vehicles must meet all licensing requirements for transporting medical waste.

5. The contractor is responsible for providing proof of liability insurance for themselves and any subcontractors handling the waste.

6. Documentation of all waste picked up must be provided to the VA Representative at the time of pick-up.

7. The contractor shall provide a certificate of treatment and disposal by a VA-approved process for all medical waste collected.

8. Waste pick-up frequency includes weekly pickups at Boise VAMC on Tuesdays; as needed pickups at Twin Falls CBOC; monthly pickups at Salmon CBOC; with specific arrangements to be determined for Caldwell and Mountain Home CBOCs.

Base period from May 17, 2025 to May 16, 2026; with four option years extending through May 16, 2030.

Place of Performance
Boise VA Medical Center located at 500 W Fort Street, Boise ID 83702; with additional service locations in Twin Falls, Mountain Home, Caldwell, and Salmon Idaho.
