Description

Hazardous Waste Disposal Services

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract for hazardous waste disposal services. The goal is to provide comprehensive hazardous, non-hazardous chemical, and universal waste disposal services for the Lexington, KY VA Health Care System and its Community Based Outpatient Clinics. This contract is set aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB).

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:

1. Providing hazardous, non-hazardous chemical, and universal waste disposal services at the Lexington VA Health Care System and its clinics.

2. Conducting pharmaceutical formulary reviews and providing collection containers.

3. Offering technical consulting and electronic record keeping.

4. Responding to emergency spills with a 24-hour service capability.

5. Training up to 30 VA employees annually on hazardous waste management and DOT regulations.

6. Performing weekly or bi-weekly inspections of satellite accumulation areas and transporting waste to central accumulation areas as needed.

7. Maintaining a centralized waste tracking system for documentation and reporting purposes.

Period of Performance
The contract will include a base year with four renewable option years, starting from February 1, 2025, through January 31, 2030.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Lexington VA Health Care System (Troy Bowling Campus and Franklin R. Sousley Campus) located in Lexington, KY, as well as various Community Based Outpatient Clinics in Berea, Hazard, Morehead, and Somerset, KY.
