Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Lebanon VA Medical Center, is seeking to obtain snow removal and salt spreading services to ensure safe access to its facilities during winter weather conditions. This contract aims to maintain the hospital grounds, including parking lots, roads, sidewalks, and entrances/exits, thereby supporting the mission of providing quality care to veterans.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for snow removal and salt spreading services at the Lebanon VA Medical Center. The scope of work includes:

1. **Snow Removal - Parking Lots:**
- Remove snow, ice, and slush from approximately 638,000 square feet of parking lot areas adjacent to various buildings.
- Perform snow removal in at least two parking lots concurrently.
- Ensure completion by removing snow down to the pavement and depositing it on adjacent grass areas.

2. **Snow Removal - Walkways:**
- Clear approximately 98,000 square feet of sidewalks and building entrances/exits without damaging them.
- Acceptable equipment includes small tractors with snow broom attachments or walk-behind snow blowers.

3. **Salt Spreading – Parking Lots:**
- Retrieve and spread bulk salt provided by the Lebanon VAMC under supervision.
- Provide all necessary equipment for loading and spreading salt in designated areas.

4. **Salt Spreading – Walkways:**
- Use VA-provided walkway salt packaged in 50 lb bags for spreading on walkways and building entrances.
- Ensure no heavy machinery damages the walkways during this process.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a base period from January 9, 2026, to May 31, 2026, with four optional one-year periods extending through May 31, 2030.
