Background
The James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, located in Altoona, PA, is seeking a contractor to provide uniform rental, alterations, and laundering services. This procurement aims to establish a five-year fixed-price requirements contract. The goal of the contract is to ensure that staff uniforms are consistently available and maintained in good condition for the facility's personnel.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide a complete uniform rental service for the Maintenance and Repair (M&R) section of Facilities Service at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center. The services include:

- Weekly laundering
- Weekly inspection of uniforms
- Repairs as needed
- Delivery of uniforms once per week during normal business hours
- Size changes for employees
- Replacement of uniforms when necessary
- Periodic communication with M&R staff
- Tracking reports on inventory and orders
- Program management
- Initial outfitting and sizing of employees.

Specific tasks include:

- Measuring all employees within two weeks of award;
- Providing uniform samples at no cost;
- Fulfilling new or change orders within two weeks;
- Maintaining uniforms in acceptable condition throughout the contract;
- Providing repair tags;
- Replacing uniforms that do not meet acceptable condition criteria;
- Making size adjustments at no cost due to employee changes;
- Ceasing charges for uniforms when employees are inactive due to illness or other reasons.

Period of Performance
The anticipated period of performance for this requirement is five years from the date of award.
