Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for Laundry and Linen Services to support the Charles George VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Asheville, NC. The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive medical laundry services that adhere to standard medical industry practices and quality control measures, ensuring that the facility's linen needs are met efficiently and effectively.

Work Details
The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, management, supplies, and facilities necessary to accomplish complete medical laundry services. This includes:
- Daily pick-up, washing, drying, ironing/pressing, folding, and delivering linen/laundry to Charles George VAMC.
- Processing laundry independently to prevent mixing with other facilities.
- Special handling for privacy curtains, quilts, and harm reduction bedding to preserve fabric quality.
- Ensuring all items are free of stains and odors before delivery.
- Maintaining a maximum 48-hour turnaround time for laundering services from pick-up to delivery.
- Providing a written contingency plan within 10 business days post-award to ensure uninterrupted service during emergencies.
- Compliance with healthcare standards for cleaning and disinfecting transport carts used for soiled linens.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for the base contract is from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, with four additional option years available.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Charles George VA Medical Center located at 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
