Tree Removal Service - Dead and Damaged - Alexandria, LA

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking contractors to provide Tree Removal Services for dead and damaged trees at the Alexandria VA Medical Center in Alexandria, LA. The purpose of this solicitation is to identify qualified businesses capable of fulfilling the requirements for tree removal services, ensuring safety for personnel, visitors, and property.

The contract aims to maintain the aesthetic and safety standards of the VA grounds.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, tools, materials, and supervision necessary to remove dead and damaged trees as well as damaged limbs from the VA campus grounds. Specific tasks include:

1) Using cranes, saws, stump grinders, and debris removers to safely remove tree hazards;
2) Restoring areas post-removal to maintain visual beauty;
3) Ensuring safe passage for pedestrians and vehicles;
4) Adhering to relevant codes and regulations (EPA, NFPA);
5) Grounding, chipping, and cleaning up debris;
6) Mobilizing within one hour of notification by the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR);
7) Following a prescribed order of work using a checklist;
8) Conducting inspections upon completion of each removal for acceptance by the COR;
9) Storing equipment in designated areas provided by the VA;
10) Checking in and out through the Police Department for security purposes.

Period of Performance
Base period from June 1, 2026 through May 31, 2027 with three option years extending through May 31, 2030.
