36C26225Q1331-S208 Landscape and Lawncare Services The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions asked by the contractors. Offer Date has been updated to 9/10/2025 by 11:00 am MDT. 1. Question: Do you happen to know how many trash cans are on site that need to be emptied? Answer: There are approximately 80 trash cans. 2. Question: Is there availability for a site visit? Answer: No site visit will be available. 3. Question: Is there an incumbent, if so, can you provide the contract number. Answer: Contract 36C26220C0159. 4. Question: Is there an incumbent contractor currently performing these services? Answer: IAW Construction Inc. 5. Will an on-site yard with a trash container be available? Answer: No, a trash container will not be available. 6. Will trash containers be provided by the Government? Answer: No trash containers will not be provided by the Government. 7. If I do not possess the required certification, would it be permissible if my employee or subcontractor possess it? Answer: Yes, that will be acceptable. 8. We would like to know if this is a brand-new contract OR if there is (was) an incumbent performing these services. Answer: This is a new contract that replaces a contract that was performed by an incumbent. 9. If not brand new, could you please provide the current / previous contract number? Answer: Contract 36C26220C0159. 10. Question: Inquire whether a formal site visit or job walk is scheduled for this requirement Answer: No site visit or job walk will be available. 11. Question: Are there any water features, ponds, or pumps on the campus that ground maintenance would be responsible for maintaining? Answer: There are not any ponds or pumps that are included in this requirement. 12: Question: Can you confirm is there is storage on site at the VA Hospital that we can keep our equipment as well as the utility vehicles we are required to have? Answer: Storage will not be provided, but a laydown space will be provided. 13. If there is a laydown area, or if we can keep a shipping container on site? Answer: Yes, there is a laydown area and a shipping container can be kept on site upon approval. 14. If so, where would this area be? Answer: To be decided. 15 Where does the incumbent keep their equipment? Answer: Please refer to answers in questions 12,13,14. 16. Question: Do you happen to know how many trash cans are on site that need to be emptied? Answer: Approximately 80 trash cans. 17. Question: Do you know how approximately? How many flats of annual color are used each planting event? Answer: The is approximately 1342 square feet that need to be changed quarterly. 18. 3. Can you confirm if there is storage on site at the VA Hospital that we can keep our equipment, as well are we required to have the utility vehicles on site? Answer: Lay down space will allow for contractor owned conex (container) to be stored along with utility vehicles. 19. Does the VA hospital utilize offsite parking Lot, or shuttle service for staff and employee parking? Answer: The hospital utilizes onsite/offsite parking and provides shuttle for staff and employees. 20. Is tree trimming work permitted on a Saturday? Answer: Tree trimming is primarily done on Saturdays.

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is issuing this solicitation for landscape and lawncare maintenance services for the Long Beach VA Healthcare System. The goal of this contract is to maintain a 100-acre campus that serves as a healing environment for veterans, ensuring that all outdoor areas are well-kept and conducive to patient care and recovery.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all personnel, supplies, equipment, tools, materials, vehicles, transportation, supervision, and other items necessary to perform the following tasks:

1. Turf Management: Mowing approximately 10.5 acres with a maintained grass height of approximately 3 inches; seasonal mowing schedule (weekly in summer/fall and bi-weekly in winter/spring); edging with a minimum depth of 2 inches along approximately 26,000 linear feet; lawn aeration once annually in spring.

2. Cut Grass and Leaf Litter Maintenance: Removal of cut grass and leaves from walks, patios, streets, and drives without using blowers in planting beds.

3. Turf-Grass Fertilization Program: Application of fertilizer during spring and fall.

4. Planting Bed Maintenance: Includes plant pruning, mulch replenishment, weed abatement, pest management, and removal of dead plants.

5. Weed Management: Hand removal and herbicide application by certified personnel; use of EPA compliant products preferred.

6. Pest Management: Insect and disease control with monthly reporting by certified applicators; use of eco-friendly pesticides preferred.

7. Ground Cover and Shrub Pruning: Pruning to maintain a neat appearance while adhering to plant type specifications.

The period of performance for the base contract is from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026, with three option years available.
