Trash and Recycling Removal and Disposal Services

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking to procure trash and recycling removal and disposal services for the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center located in Dublin, Georgia. The goal of this contract is to ensure proper disposal of waste in compliance with federal, state, and local laws while maintaining sanitary conditions at the facility. This acquisition is unrestricted and aims to support the operational needs of the medical center.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for scheduled pick-ups of trash and recycling generated at the Dublin VAMC. Specific tasks include:

1. Providing two 6 cubic yard dumpsters picked up twice a week.
2. Emptying and returning one 20 cubic yard roll-off container once a week.
3. Emptying and returning one 35 cubic yard trash compactor twice a week.
4. Providing one 30/35 cubic yard self-contained cardboard compactor picked up once a week.
5. Coordinating monthly cleaning inside the 35 cubic yard trash compactor.
6. Providing additional containers upon request for unscheduled disposal events.
7. Ensuring all containers are constructed of steel, in good repair, rat-proof, leak-proof, fire-retardant, clean, sanitized, and deodorized after dumping.
8. Responding to emergencies on-site within 24 hours of notification.
9. Maintaining compliance with all relevant laws regarding waste disposal.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a base period of performance from April 7, 2025, to April 6, 2026, with four optional years extending through April 6, 2030.
