Background
This solicitation is for refuse and recycling removal services for the Minneapolis VAMC. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a contractor to provide these services in compliance with State and Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) regulations.

Work Details
The contractor is required to physically collect and dispose/recycle refuse on a regularly scheduled basis, transport and dispose of or recycle refuse in compliance with environmental regulations, and provide containers, vehicles, retrieval/disposal services, set-up, maintenance of equipment, and any other services or supplies required to perform services under this contract. The contractor must also accept various recyclable items such as aluminum cans, paper cardboard, glass bottles, plastic containers, and scrap metals.
The solicitation includes a detailed breakdown of the number and frequency of service for all containers and dumpsters required for this contract. The preferred pickup schedule is before 7:00 a.m. at a regularly scheduled time(s) each day to prevent interruption of warehouse shipments and deliveries. On-demand pickups may be required occasionally. The contractor must allow on-site visits by VA personnel to assess contracted services and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
