Background
The Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Indianapolis, Indiana, requires a qualified vendor to provide general waste collection and recycling services. This contract aims to ensure efficient disposal of waste and recyclables while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations.

The Department of Veterans Affairs is committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment for its facilities.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all materials, labor, transportation, equipment, service compactors, and supervision necessary for the collection and disposal of general waste and recyclables (aluminum, glass, plastic, cardboard) from three specified locations in Indianapolis. Key tasks include:
1. Providing containers and compactors as specified in Appendix A.
2. Maintaining and repairing containers and compactors.
3. Picking up full containers within 24 hours of notification from the Chief of Environment Management Service (EMS).
4. Ensuring cleanliness of containers to prevent vermin attraction.
5. Reporting the weight of refuse removed from the facility and providing documentation for landfill or incineration.
6. Complying with safety regulations including OSHA standards and reporting any incidents within 24 hours.
7. Cleaning government-owned equipment monthly as specified in Appendix A.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a base year with four option years, totaling up to five years if all options are exercised.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at three locations in Indianapolis, IN: 1481 W. 10th Street, 2601 Cold Spring Road, and 1201 W. 16th Street.
