Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Center John D Dingell VA Medical Center   3

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is seeking a contractor to provide daily meals and snacks to veterans in the Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program Center at the John D Dingell VA Medical Center. The contract will be issued as a five-year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract funded yearly via new task orders.

Work Details
The contractor is required to provide all supplies, equipment, and personnel necessary to prepare, deliver, and serve meals in a cafeteria-style setting to veterans at the Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program Center. Meals are to be provided three times per day and must meet the nutritional needs of the veterans served. The contractor must also provide snacks on an ongoing basis between all meals.
The contract includes specific requirements for meal preparation, serving, and related services for breakfast, lunch, dinner, boxed meals, themed dinners on holidays, and between meal snacks. The contractor is also responsible for menu planning, dietary requirements, inventory management of condiments, and washing/sanitizing of trays and utensils.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a period of performance over five years with the base period beginning on November 2, 2022, and ending on November 1, 2027. The contract includes options for additional periods of performance.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the John D Dingell VA Medical Center Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program Center located at Conner Creek Village in Detroit, MI. The location is expected to change early in the base year of the contract to VALOR Center at 3245 East Jefferson in Detroit, MI.
