Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs is issuing this contract for hood cleaning services at the Northern Indiana Health Care System (NIHCS). The mission of the VA is to provide high-quality healthcare to veterans, and this contract aims to ensure that kitchen ventilation systems are properly maintained to support safe food preparation environments.

The goal is to maintain compliance with health and safety standards, including NFPA and OSHA regulations.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, equipment, and supervision for the cleaning of kitchen hoods, duct work, and fans at both the Fort Wayne and Marion campuses of the VA Northern Indiana Health Care System. Specific tasks include:
1. Cleaning all surfaces where dust and grease accumulate in normal operations, including grease removal devices and duct systems.
2. Ensuring compliance with NFPA 96 standards for kitchen exhaust systems.
3. Performing cleaning tasks semi-annually and annually as required.
4. Testing and confirming proper operation of kitchen hoods post-cleaning.
5. Maintaining a clean work area and removing all debris after service completion.
6. Coordinating with the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) for scheduling cleanings.

Period of Performance
The contract period begins on January 19, 2026, and ends on January 18, 2027, with options for renewal extending through January 18, 2031.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at two locations: Fort Wayne Campus located at 2121 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN 46805, and Marion Campus located at 1700 E 38th Street, Marion, IN 46953.
