Background
The Social Security Administration (SSA) is seeking protective security services at its headquarters complex in Woodlawn, MD. The SSA is an independent agency of the US Federal Government that administers Social Security, a social insurance program consisting of retirement, disability, and survivors’ benefits. The SSA HQ is a multi-building complex with an overall Facility Security Level IV designation. It is comprised of the Main Complex (MC), which includes seven inter-connecting buildings, the Supply building, the Childcare Center (CCC), the Perimeter East Building (PEB), Utility Building, Salt Dome, as well as associated grounds, parking lots, and parking garages. The complex is not open to the general public.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide armed protective security services to safeguard life and property at the SSA Headquarters Complex. This includes maintaining a secure environment for citizens and government employees to conduct business with confidence. The contractor is responsible for providing all management, supervision, labor, training, equipment, supplies, licenses, permits, certificates, insurance, pre-employment screenings, reports, files, and any other articles necessary to meet or exceed FPS Minimum Standards and to deliver support as described in the contract.
Protective Security Officers (PSO) have a crucial and highly visible role in supporting SSA’s mission and are usually the first contact visitors have with the Federal Government. The contract also includes a transition period of ninety days from contract award to contract start date.

Period of Performance
The contract includes a transition period from 11/24/2023 – 02/23/2024 followed by a base year from 02/24/2024 – 02/23/2025. There are also four option years from 02/24/2025 – 02/23/2029 and an option to extend services from 02/24/2029– 08/23/2029.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Social Security Administration Headquarters Complex in Woodlawn, MD.
