Description

HAVO Pump Septic Tanks and Vault Toilets
Background
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (HAVO) on the island of Hawaii is located 30 miles from Hilo and 96 miles from Kailua-Kona off Highway 11. Visitation to the Park is approximately 1.5 million visitors per year. The contractor shall provide labor, travel, equipment, tools and material to pump the septic and vault toilets or raw sewage and debris at HAVO per NPS, State and County regulation. The contractor is responsible for ensuring each site is clean and fit for public use prior to departure.

Work Details
The contractor shall service sixteen (16) septic systems and eleven (11) vault toilets located within HAVO. Disposal of waste shall be the responsibility of the contractor and must comply with all State, County and EPA ordinances.

The Park will notify the contractor when pumping is needed for a specific vault toilet. The contractor shall respond within 72 hours of request. The NPS/government will check and inspect for sludge or scum level in septic tanks and vaults. If pumping is determined to be necessary, the park will contact the contractor to pump.
