Facility Maintenance and Repair Data Training There are more than 10,000 maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks for all types of facilities. Using data developed RS Means Engineers, this three-day training program teaches how to plan, budget, and estimate the cost of corrective repairs, preventive maintenance, and ongoing maintenance for effective plant operations. Contractor shall provide all labor and training materials for the course for up to 30 students. The Government shall provide the classrooms and AV equipment at the the Government's facility located at 750 Pacific Hwy San Diego, CA 92134. -Learn the proven methods for auditing facilities, preventive planning, and facilities upgrading -Learn to develop preventive planning that helps avoid costly breakdown and remediation -Learn to develop both in-house and contract-out service costs -Learn how to assemble all this data into a defensible annual, asset-protecting M&R plan -Review case studies and perform exercises to provide skill-building opportunities -How to use data to estimate support projects such as janitorial, lawn services, snow removal, etc. Day 1: (Workbooks only) AM Construction Cost Estimating: Concepts and Practice -The construction documents, an estimators review and assessment -The Takeoff Process with exercises -The Pricing Process with exercises PM Scope of Work for Facilities Estimating -Scope as affected by delivery methods -Consequences of Poor Scope -Case Studies -AE Scope, Context Scope and Process Scope Day 2: (RSMO and Workbooks) -Scoping within the Estimating Process-RS Means Data: How it is developed, look at a typical line item, city cost location factors, adjustment factors within government installations-Division by Division scope guidelines, issues and proper approach when using RS Means data (will be using RSMO)-Class Exercises: Scope, proper use of Means data, use of RSMO functionality Day 3: (RSMO and Workbooks) -Maintenance basics and differences in estimating construction and maintenance. -Maintenance & Repair Cost Data -Preventative Maintenance -General Maintenance -Facilities Audits -Class Exercises This training shall focus on assessing the scope of work for estimating and evaluation purposes. This practical training shall addresses the vital importance of understanding the scope of projects to arrive at accurate cost estimate such as: -Understand the "big picture" estimating process -Review the process of cost estimating in a facilities environment -Learn that final pricing is only as accurate as the understanding of the scope of the project -Review real-life projects, along with checklists, for respective divisions -Gain an overview of quantity takeoff and project pricing, with special focus on the front-end of the process -Learn to estimate like a contractor
