Background
NASA/NSSC has a requirement for Rocket Motor ICP Pressure Sensor 10k psi 0.5 mV/psi He Bleed, H2O cooled. NASA/NSSC intends to issue a sole source contract to PCB PIEZOTRONICS, INC located at 3425 Walden Ave, Depew, New York 14043, as they are the sole provider of this specific sensor. The procurement will be managed by NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC).

Work Details
The contract involves the delivery of the following items:
1. QTY 40x Model 123B23, Rocket motor ICP® pressure sensor 10k psi 0.5mV/psi Helium bleed water-cooled (replaceable tubes).
2. QTY 80x Brass Seals, dimensions: 0.624" OD x 0.553" ID x 0.080" thick.

Engineering requirements for the sensors include:
- Helium bleed gas to protect the sensor diaphragm and increase natural frequency.
- Water cooling permitted with potable water and not exceeding 500 psi.
- Must survive peak pressures of up to 15,000 psi and temperatures between -100 degF and 250 degF.
- Must withstand flash temperatures exceeding 6,000 degF.
- Ceramic coated tips to prevent erosion from combustion gases.
- Hermetically sealed with electrical ground isolation from outer housing.
- Low-impedance output of ≤100 Ohms and excitation voltage between 12 VDC and 30 VDC.
- Current draw ≤20 mA, nonlinearity ≤1.0% Full Scale, resolution ≤0.2 psi, rise time ≤20 microseconds, and resonant frequency ≥25 kHz.

Period of Performance
No greater than 20 Weeks ARO for QTY 10x of Line Item 1; No greater than 40 Weeks ARO for remaining QTY 30x of Line Item 1.

Place of Performance
Deliverables will be shipped to Central Receiving, Bldg. 4631, Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, AL 35812.

Bidder Requirements
The contractor must be an authorized distributor or OEM for the specified sensors and meet all engineering requirements outlined in the SOW.

Incumbent Analysis (see Incumbents section for more detail)
This opportunity appears to have a closely related prior contract with PCB Piezotronics, under 80NSSC23PB714 (06/27/23–10/31/23) valued at $14,475. The prior award supplied a Rocket Motor ICP pressure sensor (Model 123B22) with helium bleed and water cooling, and the current requirement is for a similar Rocket Motor ICP pressure sensor configuration (Model 123B23) with the same general design features and application context, indicating continuity in the sensor procurement.
