MARKET SURVEY FOR ROBOTIC LIFT SYSTEM

Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Logistics Center (AJW-L)

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Logistics Center (AJW-L) is conducting this Market Survey to identify qualified vendors capable of providing a commercially available robotic lift system to support the safe lifting, positioning, rotation, and movement of portable shelter units used in FAA logistics and infrastructure operations.

This Market Survey is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment by the Government. Information received will be used to assess industry capability, identify commercial solutions, and assist in determining the appropriate acquisition strategy, including the potential for small business participation.

The FAA is seeking information on robotic lift systems capable of meeting or exceeding the following minimum requirements:

  • Operable by no more than two (2) personnel.
  • Rechargeable battery-powered operation.
  • Minimum lifting capacity of 18,750 pounds.
  • Minimum vertical lift of six (6) inches.
  • Remote-control operation.
  • 360-degree rotational capability.
  • Accommodate rectangular portable shelters ranging from 10' x 16' to 12' x 24'.

Availability for an on-site, no-cost, no-obligation demonstration.

Interested vendors should submit the following:

  1. Capability Statement describing experience with similar equipment and projects.
  2. Product Literature and Technical Specifications demonstrate compliance with the minimum requirements.
  3. Company Information, including UEI, CAGE Code, business size, and socioeconomic status, if applicable.
  4. Training, Warranty, and Maintenance Information, including available support services.
  5. Optional Equipment or Services available for the proposed system.

The Government intends to evaluate commercially available solutions and reserves the right to acquire optional equipment, training, maintenance, or support if determined to be in the Government's best interest.

Background
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Logistics Center (AJW-L) is conducting a Market Survey to identify qualified vendors capable of providing a commercially available robotic lift system. This system will support the safe lifting, positioning, rotation, and movement of portable shelter units used in FAA logistics and infrastructure operations.

The survey aims to assess industry capability, identify commercial solutions, and assist in determining the appropriate acquisition strategy, including potential small business participation.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide a robotic lift system and all associated equipment, training, documentation, and support necessary for safely lifting, positioning, rotating, and maneuvering portable shelter units ranging from 10 feet by 16 feet to 12 feet by 24 feet and weighing up to at least 18,750 pounds.

The system must be operable by a maximum of two personnel and include rechargeable battery-powered operation, remote-control functionality, a minimum vertical lift capability of six inches, and 360-degree rotational movement. The contractor is required to furnish operating manuals, warranty information, preventive maintenance documentation, safety certifications, technical specifications including electrical requirements for operation and charging. Additionally, the contractor must provide pricing for operator training with at least one unit and identify any certification requirements for operators. They should describe the training program and recommended frequency while providing information regarding the availability of replacement batteries, parts, and maintenance support. An on-site demonstration of the proposed system is required prior to award consideration.
