Riptide Gym 24/7 Access Control System

Hurlburt Field awarded a contract to Smartnet to install 24/7 Physical Access Control System (PACS) in the 1 SOFSS Riptide Fitness Center. The 1 SOFSS is the requirement holder for this project. PACS is a critical support system for the security and safety of the common use facility, personnel, patrons and all associated equipment. The existing surveillance system only has video capabilities. The proposed plan requires additional cabling to support installation of additional cameras for view of all external exits and the outside picnic area and installation of door access control on the main entrance door. The cameras surveillance system will also be upgraded with new cameras and DVRs.

SmartNet is the sole source provider for this system and is the current contractor for the 24/7 maintenance contract. They previously installed this product at two Fitness Centers on base. If another vendor installs in the community center, the systems would no longer match and we could not combine requirements in the future if systems need further development or expansion. There are no other businesses able to meet the requirement due to the proprietary nature of the system and collection of PII. Smartnet, Inc. is the only authorized vendor to provide the security system required by the fitness due to collection of PII.
