UChicago Argonne, LLC, operator of Argonne National Laboratory under a prime contract with the U.S. Department of Energy , has the responsibility of obtaining networking hardware, software, licensing, maintenance and support, and installation services which are the subject of this Request for Proposal (RFP). You are invited to submit a proposal for meeting this requirement. Your attention is directed to the enclosed documents which constitute requirements for this RFP and should be fully complied with or completed as indicated.

Background
UChicago Argonne, LLC operates the Argonne National Laboratory under a prime contract with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The laboratory is seeking proposals for networking hardware, software, licensing, maintenance and support, and installation services as part of their Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 6-B162-P-00066-00.

The goal is to acquire a 400 Gigabit Ethernet network fabric to interconnect computational resources at the Argonne Leadership Computing Facility (ALCF). This fabric will enhance data access across various storage resources and instruments within the National Laboratory complex.

Work Details
The RFP requests proposals for the acquisition and installation of a 400 Gigabit Ethernet network fabric which must include:
- Hardware
- Software
- Licensing
- Installation
- Initial Training & Education
- Ongoing Maintenance & Support for 5 Years from Date of Acceptance.

The technical requirements specify that the fabric must support Ethernet-based connectivity in a heterogeneous supercomputing environment and be forward-compatible with emerging technologies such as 800 Gigabit Ethernet and 1.6 Terabit Ethernet. It must also maintain backward compatibility with existing technologies including 100 Gigabit Ethernet standards and support various protocols like NVM Express over Fabrics and RoCE v2.
