Background
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Air and Marine Operations (AMO), part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), employs over 1,800 federal agents utilizing aircraft, marine vessels, and an advanced domain awareness network to maintain the safety and security of the nation at and beyond its borders.

This Request for Information (RFI) seeks to gather insights on technologies that can enhance Air Domain Awareness (ADA) by providing a persistent ground-based air surveillance system capable of detecting various aerial threats in diverse environments.

Work Details
The RFI aims to identify well-developed, readily deployable technologies that can support AMO's mission to secure U.S. borders through Persistent Wide-Area Air Surveillance (PWAAS).

The ideal solution should enable high probability detection of aerial objects across a wide coverage area while maintaining constant surveillance. The RFI outlines several key areas for industry feedback:
1) Approaches to PWAAS, including prioritization aspects;
2) Effective command-and-control systems for information flow;
3) Organization of systems with varying types and locations;
4) Specific sensor types to be incorporated;
5) Mitigation strategies for false detections;
6) Alignment with AMO needs;
7) Improvements over existing technologies;
8) Strategies for persistent surveillance, detection alerts, and subsequent actions post-alert;
9) Consideration of Artificial Intelligence in operations;
10) Addressing new and emerging threats.

Place of Performance
The geographic location(s) for performance are not explicitly stated in the RFI.
