Request for Information (RFI) and Industry Day: Advances in NOAA's Next Generation National Water Model Framework and Flood Inundation Mapping

The purpose of a Request for Information (RFI) is when the Government does not presently intend to award a contract, but wants to obtain information that will be used to plan an acquisition. The Government may use the information obtained from this notice to obtain feedback on drafted requirements and other market information.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS) Office of Water Prediction (OWP) is seeking information from industry to assist in structuring one or more Performance Work Statements (PWSs) for one or more potential new requirements related to Advances in NOAA's Next Generation National Water Model Framework and Flood Inundation Mapping (comprised of four components: Next Generation Water Resources Modeling Framework (NextGen), Flood Inundation Mapping (FIM) Services, Hydrofabric Development, and Precipitation Frequency Atlas (PFA)). This RFI contains a list of questions that solicit feedback about specific areas of the Statement of Objectives (SOO) and other related items. At the end of the general questions, you are provided an opportunity to provide additional information that you believe could assist the Government further in planning for potential new requirement/s.

In order to gather information from industry, the agency is requesting industry to submit a response via the below Google Form link:

The Google Form contains a list of questions and provides an avenue for industry to provide feedback on the attached SOO. Please provide a response by 4:00PM Pacific Time/7:00PM Eastern Time on Thursday, 26 May 2022.

Additionally, an industry day is scheduled for Friday, 29 July 2022 at the National Water Center in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. [UPDATE: Additional details are provided in the attached flyer.]

Please be advised that your participation in this RFI is not required to ensure participation in future solicitations and contract awards. Participation is this RFI is voluntary and the Government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their participation in this RFI. There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation as a result of this RFI. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Respondents will not be notified of the result of the review.
