This Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS)/Request for Information (RFI) is issued for informational purposes and market research only; it does not constitute a solicitation. The Government will not reimburse any company or individual for any expenses associated with preparing/submitting information in response to this posting. The information provided may be used by the Government in developing its acquisition strategy, statement of work/statement of objectives, and/or performance specifications. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained within their response as instructed later in this posting.

The United States (US) Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance & Special Operations Forces (ISR & SOF) Directorate, Special Warfare (SW) Program Office (AFLCMC/WISN) is conducting market research to identify possible sources capable of providing a man-portable Omni-directional Acoustic Sensor for both mounted and dismounted operations.

Background
The United States Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), specifically the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance & Special Operations Forces (ISR & SOF) Directorate, Special Warfare (SW) Program Office (AFLCMC/WISN), is conducting market research to identify potential sources for a man-portable Omni-directional Acoustic Sensor.

This sensor is intended for both mounted and dismounted operations, aimed at enhancing operational capabilities in detecting threats.

Work Details
The Omni-directional Acoustic Sensor will be utilized by operators to detect Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS).

The Key Performance Parameters (KPPs) for the sensor include:
1. Portability: Must be man-portable for both mounted and dismounted operations (Threshold = Objective).
2. Detection: The sensor must provide passive detection to avoid adversarial detection (Threshold = Objective).
3. Threat Identification: It should detect and provide near-instantaneous bearing for threats including UAS, vehicles, and small arms fire (Threshold = Objective).
4. Integration: The device must be capable of integrating with an End User Device (EUD) (Threshold = Objective).
5. Target Tracking: It should track moving targets using decibel readings (Threshold = Objective).
